Originally from the UK, Georgina moved to the US with her husband in 2009. Having been on a low-carb diet for some years, she wrote The Dieter’s Chocolate Cookbook to help other dieters find the chocolate treats they craved, but still stay within their dietary restrictions.
After having her son in 2011, she put her cooking focus to one side, and slowly introduced him to the fun world of art and crafts. In January 2013 she started the blog Craftulate, which features art, craft and activities for young children. Based on her experience she wrote Art, Craft and Cooking with Toddlers.
The blog became so much more than she expected, adding sensory play, science play, cooking and more to the regular activities. One particular focus was fine motor skills, and in October 2013 she joined a group of other talented bloggers for a weekly series called Fine Motor Fridays. The successful team have released two collaborative books: 99 Fine Motor Ideas in October 2014 and 100 Fine Motor Ideas in February 2016.
At the end of 2014 Georgina started a new blog called StepAwayFromTheCarbs – featuring low carb recipes, products and diet information.
She also started to develop her Indexing business, indexing five books in 2015!
In 2016 she continued with the successful “50 Crafts” series, and published 50 Nature Crafts for Little Kids, 50 Alphabet Crafts for Little Kids, 50 Art Techniques for Little Kids and 50 Halloween Crafts for Little Kids. She also released a revised version of that very first cookbook, now with color photography: Low Carb Chocolate Recipes, plus one for everyone to enjoy: Low Carb Family Favorites!
2017 saw the release of the seventh book in the “50 Crafts” series: 50 Transportation Crafts for Little Kids. She also released the next in the series of her low carb books: Low Carb Snacks. By this time the Facebook page for StepAwayFromTheCarbs had reached over 30K followers!
In October 2017 she was engaged to speak at the Type-A Parent conference on the subject of ebooks and self-publishing.
In 2018 she released one of her most successful books – Low Carb Meals For One.
In 2019 she formed her own company with her husband: River Oaks Media LLC.
Oh – and in her spare time she likes taking nature photography!
